Cooking for Isaiah:  Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Recipes for Easy, Delicious Meals  by Silvana Nardone  Copyright  2010

When my wife and I started using this cookbook,  we were surprised that the first 4 recipes we tried were really really good.  A lot of gluten free recipes we have tried over the years seem to be  short on  texture or seem bland.  The recipes in this book were different.   Then I read the forward of this book written  by Rachel Ray.    Rachel Ray says " The fact that there's no gluten or dairy in these recipes boggles my taste buds!"  How true this is.  These recipes boogle our  taste buds.  This book does not go into any information about the gluten free casein free diet like the Special Diets for Special Kids books.  It is just a cookbook with some really tasty dishes.

The book is broken down into 8 sections.

  • The Basics
  • Breakfast
  • Starters and Salads
  • Soups, rice and Pasta
  • Sandwiches and Pizza
  • Main Dishes
  • Vegetables and Sides
  • Desserts
The first section, the basics,   is going to show you how to make   Silvana's all purpose flour blend and pancake mix.  Then you will learn what kitchen implements will make your life easier as you cook her recipes.  The rest of her book is dedicated to  many delicious recipes.
